Laura Dodson has published a number of books to help people learn QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online. Part of her philosophy is to provide clarity and understanding to business owners and bookkeepers. Rather than ‘hold back’ some important secret to being successful, it’s more common than not that common sense will win the day.
The most common feed back is that the books are straightforward and seem simple to implement. She believes that is the goal of any instructional book. Provide easy to understand steps to accomplish the goals at hand.
There are many addons or apps that you can purchase to expand QuickBooks Desktop or QuickBooks Online. However, it’s been her experience that very few people are interested in spending an additional $50 dollars per month on applications. Therefore, her books keep to the main path on the programs.
If you have massive amounts of data headed towards your accounting system, then an app might be a good choice. But shouldn’t a basic program cover all the basic things that you need? We certainly think so.
