Look! Squirrel!

Rabid Squirrels!

Rabid Squirrels!

This warning was posted at a nearby nature preserve.  If you didn’t know anything about squirrels, you would have been on the outlook for six foot tall menacing rodents would your life in about 10 seconds.

I can only hope that someone with a extreme fear of squirrels did not see that sign. 🙂

This post is about fear and the warnings that you receive while running a business.  The IRS will audit you!  Well, this isn’t such a big deal if you keep good books for your business.  If you don’t have a website and pay someone $200.00 a month for SEO you won’t be successful!  Well, SEO is based on keywords, twitter feeds and word of mouth.  It can be helpful, but if you are selling pizza, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know that your website should have a mouthwatering picture of pizza in it.  You must be on LinkedIn!  Again helpful, but a pizza joint won’t get too many orders from a linked in profile.

The key to using and finding advice is to find the happy medium which works for you and your business.  Know your market.  Know the legal and tax requirements for your business and you should be mostly fine.

Otherwise, you are going to be on the lookout for six feet tall rabid squirrels.
